Profile of a likely grant partner

While these are guidelines as opposed to rules, the following is a good profile of what we look for among candidates for grants:

• Working in social development at least five years

• Effecting measurable change through their work

• Usually family or couples-based

• Independent (i.e. not part of a larger mission)

• Demonstrated commitment to their work

• Community respect

• Never complaining about their circumstances

• Passionate about their cause

• Long term vision for their undertaking

• Demonstrated ability to raise funds and awareness for their projects

• Real people with a sense of humor, able to relax from time to time

• Exhibiting qualities of the social entrepreneur

• Identified and verifiable need for income augmentation or replacement

• Known personally to PeaceDiviners™ or introduced by a trusted nominator partner

After granting a recipient the first time need, PeaceDiviners™ will not automatically grant lifetime income to the social development artist, especially for new grants. If long-term financing is required, this will be decided as the relationship develops.

Know a potential partner?

As relationships are based on trust, introductions through an established network are given priority for funding consideration. However, PeaceDiviners™ welcomes introductions to all potential grant partners, especially from people known within the social entrepreneurial network, through established missions, and those who work for the international development community whether donors or nongovernmental organizations or the United Nations. Tell us about people you know who work full time in their commitment to social change and or for other reasons would benefit from the peace of mind that comes with assured personal financial assistance.
