Investors PeaceDiviners™ is registered with Corporations Canada with an unlimited number of shares of one class with a restriction of 50 shareholders as a private company. We are interested in opening conversations with ethical investors who share our commitment to help. Investment opportunities Books Invest in the Stop!™ series The Gap Year - Educational Video Series We are seeking one or more ethical investors for what promises to be an important educational documentary series that chronicles transformation through experience and delivers critical messages while entertaining. Concept: take three neophyte (i.e. super green) travelers 18-24 from the upper middle class Western world and place them to work with PeaceDiviners™ partner NGOs (several countries involved, both developed and developing) to document their culture shock and transformation through a six-month Gap experience; Assuming funding, filming would begin January 2005, with first release available by March/05 and monthly thereafter. Strategy: Identify three very different young people (two guys and a girl or the reverse). They might be described in their yearbooks as “least likely to want to change the world”…possibilities include 1. a 'could care less' comic jock 2. someone earnest but naïve and shy 3. a superficial, money-motivated, brand oriented type Criteria for choice None should have traveled (except perhaps to Florida); Must represent target audience (top 20% income bracket) No evidence of a manifested social conscience Must not know each other Implementation The chosen participants would be placed independently in 3 base international locations for 6 months to work with the partner organizations. They would receive a modest stipend (sliding scale based on local economies). After briefly painting the three star characters through home visits, the filming would begin with departure and end with the separation from the host partners and homecoming. Added Value: Plan is to use young filmmakers from similar backgrounds, so they can also share the experience. Results: A series of six 45-minute 'reality' type peeks at the process of transformation (15 minutes each story); plus one wrap-up episode from the three filmmakers' POV (i.e. their observations and how the experience changed them.) Surprise factor: If legally possible, the travelers will not know their destination until they arrive at the airport and are presented their visa-stamped passport and their ticket. Locations: a) Davao City, Philippines, with travel throughout the southern region of the country and to Manila; (protagonist from a small city.) b) Tokyo, with travel to Peru, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, London, England; (sheltered protagonist - from rural North America) c) Kemptville, Ontario Canada, with travel to Europe, US, Uganda, Tanzania, Mexico. (a city kid from a large urban center where the weather is warm – possibly California) Budget estimate $1,500,000. Impact: potentially huge. To be marketed to schools (top 20% income bracket), including universities, as a teaching tool and libraries throughout the Anglo world; also available as a fundraising sale item. ROI: The return on investment is of course unknown, but this project should easily pay for itself and then some within one year with an aggressive marketing campaign. In the US alone, schools alone (not including libraries or universities or individuals) there are over 20,000 potential easy customer markets covering the top 20% of income. With public broadcasting possibilities to market it, the potential returns are excellent. DVDs should sell for $50 and VHS tapes for $10 (two episodes per issue).
