Core Principles The organization’s overarching goal is to be a self-sustaining instrument to ‘divine’ (as for water) ‘peace of mind’ for worthy social entrepreneurs, by being a consistent source of funding, to remove financial worries from the social activist, allowing them to concentrate on their work, while triggering a multiplier effect that yields unknowable positive outcomes. PeaceDiviners™ “grant partners” are, by way of their work, a critical part of the process of achieving global harmony. If people have enough and are not marginalized, the possibilities for economic growth increase monumentally. Through any type of poverty alleviation or other social development work they do, PeaceDiviners™ grant partners are an integral part of the peacebuilding and conflict prevention process, whether or not they work actively in conflict transformation programs. Thus they are the true “diviners of peace.” Mission: PeaceDiviners™ seeks to assist individuals or families who have committed their lives in extraordinary ways to helping people less fortunate. By providing living allowances and emergency finances, they can continue their work in the field with renewed fervor. Through the provision of resources beyond project funds, PeaceDiviners™ endeavors to help sustain effective organizations that are creatively devoted to alleviating poverty and other hardships such as disease or other handicaps. That is, to provide adequate personal funds as required to the principals behind these service operations. In short, PeaceDiviners provides freedom from financial stress to people doing good work. • To raise awareness in the privileged world of global problems and stimulate action to effect their solutions PeaceDiviners’™ goal is to develop global citizens from an early age, especially within the privileged classes of society in the developed world—those who are now in families that can take some responsibility for the planet and will mature with choices available that allow them to grow up and make a difference. • To help sustain small but effective organizations that need additional private resources beyond their project funds Even the United Nations has recognized that they and the other development institutions (World Bank, WHO, and sister organizations) cannot meet the Millennium Development Goals without the help of small, nimble organizations working passionately at ground level. PeaceDiviners™ International financially supports the principals behind organizations like these while educating future leaders of other organizations that will be required to fill the ever growing need. For the dual purpose of raising funds and awareness a) To develop and produce high quality educational products that can be sold by schools, religious community groups, civic organizations, and NGOs as fundraisers for wide distribution and multiple benefits. b) To produce inspirational documentary films that depict the stories of the social development artists while educating young “observers.” Starting at elementary school age level, our children’s’ books are designed to plant a seed in young minds that a) there are problems in the world and b) one person has the power to make a difference, even a child. The educational film series is aimed at 16-24 year old potential changemakers. Both these product groups serve as fundraisers for organizations who share our goal to make the world a better place. There are also collateral products based on the characters in the stories. While their educational value is tenuous, they do provide funds to help keep the publishing side of the organization in business. |
